Icon Analysis

Rhonda Byrne is the author, creator, and executive producer of The Secret, and The Power.  She has led millions of people across the planet to the first step in receiving abundance.  This step is awareness.  Rhonda Byrne is an iconic figure because she proves that throughout the ages the law of attraction is evident and can be applied to everyone’s life.

David Bohm is a quantum physicist who worked closely with Albert Einstein, Arthur Schopenhauer, and Georg Hegel.  Bohm is an iconic figure because his Bohm theory suggests it is possible to attribute properties to an underlying reality which contrasted conventional approaches to quantum mechanics.  "Suppose you have two religions. Thought defines religion - the thought about the nature of God and various questions like that. Such thought is very important because it is about God, who is supposed to be supreme. The thought about what is of supreme value must have the highest force. So if you disagree about that, the emotional impact can be very great, and you will then have no way to settle it. Two different beliefs about God will thus produce intense fragmentation - similarly with thoughts about the nature of society, which is also very important, or with ideologies such as communism and capitalism, or with different beliefs about your family or about your money. Whatever it is that is very important to you, fragmentation in your thought about it is going to be very powerful in its effects"
(D. Bohm & Mark Edwards, _Changing Consciousness_, p. 11).

George Gurdjieff is an iconic figure because his spiritual teachings are embodied with specific methodology for the development of consciousness.  His goal in life was to not bring peace and harmony but to make man aware of inner warfare and destroy men’s complacency by making them aware of their limitations.  By what he called ‘conscious labours and intentional sufferings,’ it was possible to bring about inner development.  “There do exist enquiring minds, which long for the truth of the heart, seek it, strive to solve the problems set by life, try to penetrate to the essence of things and phenomena and to penetrate into themselves. If a man reasons and thinks soundly, no matter which path he follows in solving these problems, he must inevitably arrive back at himself, and begin with the solution of the problem of what he is himself and what his place is in the world around him” (G.I. Gurdjieff).

These three icons were chosen based on who I believed has made the largest difference in many lives without being obvious.  For example, it would have been easy to choose the following three icons: Buddha, Albert Einstein, and Plato.  Yet, these three icons lives or has lived within our lifetime and their work is still revered.  Rhonda Byrne led to the awareness of ALWAYS thinking positively to attract positive things.  David Bohm speaks my language by theorizing how simple it is to understand alternative universes.  And, George Gurdjieff sought to raise people’s awareness of the limitations of consciousness and led people to enlightenment.

Rhonda Byrne means proof that history repeats itself.  She has guided me through thought and shown me that the reason why there is only 1% of the population who is wealthy is that they have a secret they do not want to share.  I now know that secret and practice it every minute of the day.

David Bohm has explained to me this; If there is a $10k contest and 5 participants with the same mental manifesting metaphysical attributes, who would win?  David Bohm says everyone.  Not by each of the 5 participants winning $2k but by each of them winning $10k.  How is that possible you ask?  David Bohm says the universe would split 5 ways and each of them will win.  This makes complete sense to me as the universe is vast and limitless.

G.I. Gurdjieff  states, "Man lives his life in sleep, and in sleep he dies." As a result of this condition, each person perceives things from a completely subjective perspective. Gurdjieff stated that maleficent events such as wars and so on could not possibly take place if people were more awake. He asserted that people in their typical state function as unconscious automatons, but that one can "wake up" and become a different sort of human being altogether.  Gurdjieff teaches a simplest lesson, the universe does not understand the words NO, NOT, CAN’T, DON’T, etc.  For example, the war on drugs, everyone is focusing their attention to fighting drugs which involves negative thoughts, feelings, and actions.  Remember……for every action there is a reaction.
